Event Description

On November 30, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, an insightful and engaging session took place at a Private Education Center in Kotikawatta, Sri Lanka. The session, titled "Awareness Program of Climate X Health Concept and First Aid in Climate Changes," was thoughtfully structured. The first hour, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, delved into the intersection of climate and health, captivating the Grade 11 audience with an 11-slide presentation. The subsequent hour, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, focused on practical first aid measures during climate change disasters, presented through another meticulously crafted 11-slide PowerPoint.
The initiative was granted permission through the conscientious efforts of the Math teacher, who carefully outlined the proceedings and secured approval for the presentation. The audience comprised 112 Grade 11 students, all new to the session and keenly interested in the topics. The feedback received after the session was overwhelmingly positive, with students expressing a keen interest in the Climate X Health concept and the upcoming Global Youth Climate Week. They were particularly curious about the first aid steps applicable in the face of climate change disasters.
It's worth noting that permission to publish or upload event photos and videos was explicitly denied, respecting the privacy and preferences of the participants. The success of the session is attributed to the effective use of learning materials, two comprehensive PowerPoint presentations created by the presenter. The engaged response from the students underscores the importance of fostering awareness and preparedness in the face of climate challenges among the younger generation
