Event Description
The event "SDSN Youth Mediterranean-Black Sea Speaking Club" serves as an inclusive and safe space for any young person in the regions of Mediterranean and Black Sea (or worldwide) to come together to discuss a specific sustainable development issue and how they can be active agents of change.
The event's topic is "How can sustainable cities support mental health?" which is primarily related to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
Ecoanxiety is a growing mental health issue over the last years in the young age group. Moreover, growing uncertainties in post-covid recovery is another factor which affects the younger generations’ mental health. Combining those two concerns, transforming and redesigning the cities in a more sustainable way can positively impact the mental health of all age groups. How can local governance and youth participation contribute to building sustainable cities, and how can sustainable cities increase the life contentment of young generations?
